What is mole removal?
An aesthetic correction of the removal of a mole on the face or other places on the body is a minor operation under local anesthesia.
The procedure is as follows:
- Assessing the nevus by color, size and shape
- Marking the nevus small oval around the mole/nevus
- Disinfection and local anesthesia
- Removal of the nevus and closure with sutures
After 1 week the stitches in the face are removed. The rest of the body such as: back, leg, arm, abdomen the stitches are removed after 2 weeks
Who is eligible for mole removal?
In principle, anyone can qualify for nevus removal.
Dr. Esther Mesters is reluctant to perform an aesthetic removal of a nevus in the decollete area because this can often result in wide scars.
Scar:
Initially the scar is red for the first 3 months and the scar fades after 3 months
