PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. We take a small amount of your blood and spin it in a centrifuge. We reintroduce the layer with the highest concentration of platelets into your skin or scalp. These platelets contain growth factors: substances your body uses to repair tissue. They stimulate collagen production and improve blood circulation where it is needed.

PRP for the face is also known as the 'vampire facial'. This nickname refers to the use of your own blood in the treatment. Unlike a filler, PRP does not add volume, but rather stimulates the body to repair itself.

Results and recovery


PRP works cumulatively: you will usually notice the first changes in skin quality or hair density after a few weeks. Therefore, we recommend a course of 3  treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance. We will outline exactly what you need in your personalized treatment plan.

Immediately after the treatment, your skin or scalp may be red and slightly swollen for one to three days. Avoid makeup for 24 hours; skip the sauna, swimming pool, and intense exercise for 48 hours.

When can I expect results?

The results of PRP usually develop gradually. The body needs time to initiate the natural healing processes. When the first results become visible, they vary from person to person and depend on factors such as the indication, the initial condition, and the chosen treatment strategy. During the consultation, you will receive a realistic expectation of the potential results.

Can I just go back to work after that?

Yes. Expect slight redness for one to three days, and sometimes a small bruise.

Is PRP safe?

We use your own blood, so the risk of an allergic reaction is low. The treatment is performed by our KNMG-registered doctors under sterile conditions. We will discuss the risks and contraindications during your consultation.

Does PRP also work for hair loss?

PRP is used for thinning hair and works best at an early stage when the hair roots are still active. In cases of advanced baldness, PRP is not the recommended treatment.

How long will the results be visible?

The longevity of the results varies greatly from person to person and depending on the application. PRP is not a treatment that produces the same or lasting results for everyone. Factors such as age, lifestyle, the underlying cause of the complaint, and the individual response to the treatment can have an influence. If desired, a maintenance treatment can be discussed after some time.
