Hifu treatment
HIFU (this stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a unique treatment based on ultrasound to tighten the skin in a non-invasive manner. As we get older we have to deal with sagging skin. The collagen production decreases making the skin look less firm. HIFU is an ultrasound-based treatment and the energy released during this treatment ensures that collagen production gets a boost. This way we are able to lift and strengthen the skin in a natural way.
The treatment
Ultrasound HIFU – for a non invasive tightening of the skin
HIFU works on the basis of focalized ultrasonic technology. When the acoustic energy of sound waves is focussed at a certain depth, the temperature rises to above 65 degrees for a very short time. This increase is sufficient to trigger cell renewal and collagen production in the skin. The special thing about the treatment is that ‘old collagen’ is replaced by ‘new collagen’. The HIFU is able to heat the so-called SMAS layer in the skin, which immediately tightens it. The SMAS layer is exactly that layer of tissue that surgeons lift during a surgical facelift. In addition, we can deliver precisely the right depth of energy in a safe and very controlled manner where it is necessary to lift and tighten the skin. One of the big advantages of HIFU is that the skin surface is not damaged. The device is equipped with different heads. 2 heads help to stimulate the skin and fight weakness and a special head is present to initiate a non-invasive lysis. A non-invasive lysis is very suitable to treat a double chin or the upper arms.
A HIFU treatment is completely safe. Ultrasonic technology has been used successfully for over 50 years and the HIFU treatment is FDA approved. It is important to mention that there are many types of similar (especially cheaper) devices on the market. At BLOY Institute we only work with the certified device. In addition, our staff is optimally trained and they stay up to date by constantly following new training courses.
The skin scan
Before we start treatment, a comprehensive skin scan is first made. At BLOY Skincare we make a combined skin scan for free, using 2 different devices so that we get a full analysis on the table. We have worked with the skin scan for the past 6 years, but our two new devices give us an even better view of the skin. We can now actually look into the skin and map the thickness of your collagen very precisely. The scans give a very comprehensive and objective image of your skin and also of the deeper layers that we cannot see with the naked eye. From there we can draw up the correct treatment plan, but we can also accurately monitor progress. As a client you can see through the scan that your collagen will improve through our unique treatment method and the accompanying supplements.
The result
The result needs time. The body itself starts the collagen (re) production and the first results will be visible after about 3 to 6 months. After this period you will notice a visible strengthening of the skin and a lifting of the facial contours. The skin is fuller and fine lines and wrinkles will decrease. If you are also treated for the chin area then you will notice a visible decrease of the double chin.

How many treatments do I need?
You only need 3 treatments for a great result. The collagen production continues the months after the treatment so that it takes 3 to 6 months before you will see the final result. In some cases (in the case of severe sagging) a third treatment may be necessary. The aging process will, of course, continue. An annual repeat treatment is therefore desirable. Do I already have results after 1 treatment?
You definitely see results after 1 treatment. It does take about 3 months before the first results are visible. Depending on your skin condition and your goals, usually 2 treatments are needed and in the case of severe sagging 3 treatments.
For which indications is the treatment suitable?

The treatment is suitable for all skin types and can be used beautifully on the face, neck and décolleté. In addition, we can also treat the upper arms nicely, for example. The skin does not need to be prepared and the treatment can also be carried out in the summer period. Please note: the treatment is not suitable if you have recently undergone treatment with botox or fillers or if you are pregnant. Always discuss this in advance with the skin therapist.
Is the treatment painful?
During the treatment an ultrasound gel is applied to the skin for a good conduction of the ultrasounds. Because of the anesthetic gel you usually do not have a painful feeling during the treatment, except for some limited tingling. The treatment lasts between 15 and 90 minutes depending on the area to be treated.
Do I have a downtime?
With this treatment there is no downtime. However, the skin may be a little red a few hours after the treatment. This will disappear automatically. In some cases, a slight swelling of the skin may occur, but these side effects are short-lived. Remember to always use an SPF (summer and winter).
Are there risks associated with the treatment?
