Do you suffer from age spots (solar lentigo), redness caused by rosacea, age warts (seborrheic keratoses), or fibromas? Meet our Elvii 532VP KTP laser! This effective and powerful diode laser reduces skin imperfections with a beam of concentrated green light. This green light is transformed into warmth in the skin. By using a small spot size, we are able to successfully target and treat various skin conditions.
How does the laser treatment work?
During the laser treatment, we will begin by cleansing your skin. Next, we will determine your skin type and customize the KTP laser to the right settings for your skin type and particular skin condition. You will be given a pair of glasses to protect your eyes from the laser beams. The skin therapist will now start the treatment. One by one, you will feel tiny pulses on your skin that you might experience as small pinpricks. Afterwards, you might feel a burning sensation or your skin might feel a little warm. The length of the laser treatment depends on the number of skin spots to be treated. The skin therapist will give you a time indication during the intake.
What skin imperfections can the KTP laser treat?
The KTP laser can be used to treat various skin blemishes:
Old age warts (seborrheic keratoses)
Enlarged sebaceous glands (sebaceous hyperplasia)
Age spots (solar lentigo)
Q & A
Frequently asked questions
The skin will be slightly red and swollen in the treated area. You might also experience a warm, slightly burning sensation. Usually, these side effects will disappear within a day. Red, broken blood vessels usually disappear immediately during the treatment. At times, broken blood vessels do not disappear instantly, but become more visible for the first couple of days instead. Age spots will become darker at first and become lighter later on, over the course of some days. In the case of fibromas, some scabbing might be visible for about a week.
It is important that you do not tan before the treatment. Starting four weeks before the first treatment and until four weeks after the final treatment, you should keep out of the sun and cannot use a tanning bed. Besides this, you should also apply sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher on the treatment area each morning. Undergoing a laser treatment is also not possible if you’ve had a spray tan or have self-tanned.
Red, broken blood vessels are usually eliminated in 1-3 treatments. Hyperpigmentation such as age spots, however, usually requires 3-5 treatments. Fibromas are eliminated instantly after just one treatment. It’s important to note that these are averages, and that the number of treatments you require might be different. Your skin therapist will advise you on the required number of treatments during the intake. There should be 4 to 6 weeks in between treatments, giving your skin a chance to recover.
