What does Fotona Dynamis® 4D entail?
During the Fotona Dynamis® 4D treatment, we work in four steps. The most common signs of skin aging are addressed in the four steps below, tightening the skin from the inside out.
- Step 1(D)
The Fotona Dynamis® 4D treatment begins in the mouth, where laser energy is used to initiate the tightening process around the mouth and jawline. This step also reduces expression lines such as nasolabial folds and wrinkles. Like a filler, but natural! - Step 2(D)
Next, as a complement to the treatment in the mouth, deeper imperfections such as deep lines and pigmentation spots are treated to achieve a fine texture and even tone. - Step 3(D)
In step three, the skin is heated to create a tightening effect, effectively firming and lifting the skin. - Step 4(D)
The final step involves a light laser peel to improve the skin and address surface imperfections. You’ll immediately notice that your skin looks fresher and tighter.
Why is the Fotona Dynamis® 4D unique?
The Fotona Dynamis is very special because it operates with two lasers in one system, namely the 1064nm Nd:YAG laser and the 2940 nm Er:YAG laser. With these two lasers, we can work simultaneously at different wavelengths and target different layers of the skin. Additionally, the Fotona laser system has many different handpieces, allowing us to treat various common skin problems as well as those that are less well-known. Careful consideration has been given to the system and each handpiece. The system is highly innovative and extensively tested, making each treatment completely safe. We can address all aspects of skin aging with it, not just skin laxity and wrinkles, but also drooping eyelids and volume loss in the lips. In short, we are very pleased to be one of the few clinics in the Netherlands that can work with this fantastic system.
General information about the Fotona 4D Laser®
With this multifunctional system, we can improve the skin in many ways! This includes skin tightening, treating scars, lifting the skin above the eyes, and hair removal. Additionally, we treat conditions like rosacea, pigmentation issues, and facial and leg veins with this system.
In the past, we already treated some of these skin problems, but with this system, we can achieve even better results! The special thing about this system is that we can work with two complementary wavelengths, namely the 1064nm Nd:YAG laser and the 2940 nm Er:YAG. You might think a laser is just a laser, but nothing could be further from the truth! By being able to work with this system at different wavelengths, we can also target different layers of the skin. Some skin problems exist across multiple skin layers, which we can now address simultaneously! The combination of these two wavelengths ensures a fast, visibly beautiful, and long-lasting result.

What steps does the treatment consist of?
The Fotona 4D treatment consists of four different steps to achieve real skin rejuvenation.
- Step 1D – SMOOTHLIFTINTM
With a type of glass tube, the cheeks and skin around the mouth are treated from inside the mouth, making this step very unique! We treat in this way, from the inside, to achieve maximum collagen stimulation.
By creating heat beams in the skin, collagen contracts. This stimulates collagen production in the cheeks, nasolabial folds, and the lips themselves. This makes the skin more elastic and tighter. For this first step of the 4D treatment, we use a non-ablative Erbium:YAG laser. - Step 2D – FRAC3Ⓡ
Next, we move on to the second step. Here, we treat various imperfections such as pigmentation spots and redness, and we even out the skin. Additionally, during this step, the effect of the intra-oral treatment (from step 1) is enhanced, and the skin texture is improved. For this step, we use an Nd:YAG laser, which delivers heat peaks to the skin in a fractionated manner. - Step 3D – PIANOⓇ
In this step, we continue with the Nd:YAG laser, but in a special “long pulse” mode. We heat your skin to tighten it. By reading the temperature of the deeper skin layers during the treatment, we can heat the skin to the desired temperature, tightening the entire thickness of the skin layer. This step of the treatment feels pleasant! - Step 4D – SupErficialTM
The final step of this treatment involves a peel! For this, we use an Erbium YAG laser to polish the upper skin layer and remove dead skin cells. Superficial discolorations and imperfections are removed from the skin. We customize this step completely to your skin condition and the season. For example, in summer, we can do a light peel (with no downtime), and in winter, we can make it more intensive (with some days of downtime) to achieve even more visible effects on the skin structure.
